- How come GVP can have their cards add 32 bit 'extended' (= beyond the 24
- bit address range) RAM without having to use fancy addmem commands in the
- startup-sequence, or reboot surviving patches etc, but other
- manufacturers can't seem to do this. (I know there is extra code in KS3.1
- to do this, but I still only have KS2.04 in my 2000, and there is 4 megs
- of 'extended'ram (From $01000000 to $013FFFFF) in addition to the 8 megs
- autoconfig on my GVP combo card, and theres no addmems or anything in my
- startup-sequence.
-
- Is it something to do with the fact that these boards try to use
- addresses $80000000 and up, (Why when theres a bit less than 2 gigs space
- from $01000000 to $7FFFFFFF, That should be enough for anybody using a
- 680x0 processor.
